You take no anger with you,
You leave nothing on your slate,
After every use, you wipe it clean
With a burst of sunshine poetry.
I am young, recently turned
My attention to the power of words,
I seek only to absolve my soul
Of twenty six years discontent.
When I have dredged my mind of ill,
Out onto angry pages spill,
I will think fondly of your lines;
An old-time master had described
The heady space of loving words
And I will set out on his trail.
