Midnight sky

Patterns shapes in the world above,
Connecting lights create a dove.
Images common to the mastered eye,
There above; the midnight sky.
A practical mind sees balls of gas,
Measuring through peephole the size and mass.
To children they bring hope like the wishing wells.
To me each one a story tells.
Bravest Hero's dead and gone,
Light the night sky and still live on.
ferocious beasts roam the night,
Cowering under the might of the suns great light.
The northern star directs me home,
With the archers arrow my way is shown.
Gods and goddesses depicted in light,
Thought to protect the long cold night.
They're little points of jewl like glow,
Like seeds in a medow someone did sow.
These little point of purest light,
Aid the wonderer on his plight.
first to wake are Venus and Mars,
Brightest of all the midnight stars.
