Pin pricks in black card with
a torch behind.
A sea of candles lit in the memory
of something long gone.
Spilled change from
the pocket
of a
drunk.
Jewels arranged in a display window.
Headlights of someone reversing
back down a dark tunnel.
Signposts lit up for lost pilgrims
travelling the road.
A winding staircase leading to a door.
Dew drops on the black fur of a
sleeping beast.
Specters in a backstage haunt behind the
curtain.

Is a brilliantly original image, you've taken something, the stars, so commonly written about, and managed to avoid cliches, the poem feels fresh and individual. Really, really good, I think.
