He swapped a life
filled with faces
for a head
filled with voices
And a morning
filled with sirens
for a moment
filled with violence
Swapped the ringing
in his ears
for a permanent end
to all his fears
The demons that
he couldn’t kill
for the empty shell
that now lies still
The empty shell
that now lies still
The empty shell
that lies there still
in all our hearts
