were i a note of music
i'd be sharp and never flat
so merrily i'd bounce along
all happy, round and fat

i'd be creating music
holding hands with all my friends
some dancing at the start of things
some dancing near the ends

the rise in pitch enchanting
and a cadence so divine
how rich the wondrous melody
from all these friends of mine

no need of human voices
when the music tells the tales
the song is like the wind
that blows eternal in the sails

how man discovered music
is a secret not yet found
perhaps he studied nature
and the rapture of its sound
