Stepping out into an icing suger day
Rainbow pastel sky
Frosted rooftops
Crystalised grass
Bathed in pink and golden light
Scenery changes from Lowery to a Turner
I dream of my Yorkshire home
Steep winding pathways
Pleasing shortcuts
Down into Waterford city
Jack frost bites
Nips my cheeks
On the cusp of December
Seasonal magic in the air
The calm before the Christmas storm
Early morning murmerings
As the city awakes
Serenity in every step
Clarity in every cool breath
Walking eases the anxiety
That has lately gripped my chest
