Cracking the …

Do you have Christmas crackers in Denmark? They have a paper hat, a tiny gift, and a 'joke' all usually rather poor quality unless you pay a lot, but people like them because you pull each end of the wrapped tube cover, and they tear open with a bang (tiny bit of explosive I suppose). Anyway, our pastor used one to tell the children (and adults!) it can remind of the real celebration of Jesus' coming, as the hat is a kind of crown usually, and Jesus, the King came here to bring us the greatest gift of forgiveness and spiritual life, and real happiness lasting (rather than the groan-fun of those cracker jokes).
