Skeletal in outline with walking stick,
Old before the Vikings put to sea
To pillage the coast from coastline;
Stark witness to robbery and fire,
That hollow victory of the solid masts,
Grounded rudders rotting beneath him.
Invaders beached on his salted rocks,
Watching them fade into history.

A nice one Melkur. Brings
A nice one Melkur.
Brings back to me a distant memory of the time I considered climbing Hoy.
Then had a change of heart.
