In that split second when
moonlight melts
to liquid silver, then to
slivers of ice as it freezes –
caught in a mantilla
made of birch twigs,
is when my soul listens...
through a stethoscope
of longing, your voice,
ringing in my ears,
reminding me
there are all kinds of time;
even now, as the snow,
whitely mourns your absence.
The time between one breath
and the next, or the kind fashions
mountains...rivers or suns,
and how you live in each
and everyone.

a longing for that special person that means so
much to you.
Sad but I very much enjoyed reading.
