head bobbing in
agreement –

begins to drum
erotic sounds
enjoys the staccato of
wings fluttering
in sound and fury

wrapping it around
his pride.

You remind me of Peter Scott (Sir Peter) he started out as a wild fowler and eventually gave up the gun for the camera. He founded the Slimbridge Nature Reserve and became the vanguard of early conservationalism. His story is worth following up if you have the time.

Yes, scratch. I hunted deer, rabbit and partridge---ruffed grouse. Now I do take binoculars with me to observe and write about my new pets. Richard
