ducks are so fickle
they coagulate at the edge
of the lake and my footsteps
only now in winter
the summer had brought
pastry-rich tourists
who fed them
to twice their size
and back then they gave
derisory black-pea-eyes
twitched their heads away
as coldly as a bond of
plasterers at a wedding
winter comes and lo
the ducks adore me
well sod you ducks
stick that in your beaks
nature's tough innit?
s'alright I'm only kidding.
here's your snickers flapjack
you mercenary cur you freaks
