Summer Rain

And, suddenly, the rain fell down.
In its coolness, I wanted to drown.
Against my skin, it tasted sweet
as it quenched away the summer heat.
Like silver was each precious drop
and I prayed that it would never stop;
never stop drumming against my skin;
washing out the weariness within.
