LAUGHTER IS LIKE JAZZ

laughter is like jazz
you can't predict how it will drift
it's quite by chance
just how this dance
will dart and jump and lift
sometimes you hear your laughter
and the sound will drive you on
you feel the flow
and off you go
a river, you're upon
the water, white and foamy
as along the rocks, you slide
you slip between
as you careen
enraptured by your glide
you can't control your laughter
when your mirth has run amok
your breath gets short
you just might snort
when funny bones are struck
and lord, when you start snorting
that is such goofy sound
the ante's upped
and you'll erupt
for yet another round
your laughter is contagious
those around will join your song
the voices mix
like lunatics
till all are going strong
then it becomes an orchestra
with things at fever pitch
next thing you know
the hum will grow
vibratos, deep and rich
it's good to get the giggles
truly, laughter is like jazz
just let it fill
your lungs until
you're laughing like a spazz
