The Snow White Butterfly

I saw a snow white butterfly
that I seemed to remember.
So I asked it, “Have we met before somewhere?”.

“I have wings in June and July”,
it said, “But in December
I’m a snowflake fluttering down through the air”.

What an original idea JoHn, I could just visualize the butterfly turning into a snowflake in Winter. Beautifully put. Jenny.

Thank you, Bee. There are these mysterious little white butterflies in my garden. At first I assumed they were Cabbage Whites but there are no black spots on them; no markings of any kind that I can see and so I think they may be Wood Whites, which are related to Cabbage Whites but are smaller and normally live in the forest. Very glad you liked it.

Thank you, Jenny. I've read lots of poems about brightly coloured butterflies and so I thought a white butterfly poem might be something a bit different. I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
