New Love

In the first instance your glance was blank
like an uncertain bird, head cocked to one side.
As time passed, the world unfurled for us,
we became more bonded, understood better.
And then came spring and a fresh outlook,
an awakening of sorts to forgotten senses.
I learn more of you each time we speak,
you are a mine of precious minerals.
Your once alien outlook is now a given,
part of who you are, no longer threatening.
I am learning your world, as we set out
upon the landscape we have found.

I really like this but it is
I really like this but it is weakened by the inclusion of what (in my opinion) is a really unnecessary word in the second line of the fourth stanza (delete "different") and a very intrusive typo in the second line of the penultimate stanza. Other than that this is a really very good effort. Well done.
