Oh this quiet, unquiet burn
this ravenous rage within
that cannot rest, relent
till all that is life and laughter
the larger and lesser concerns
is consumed, and what remains
is trash, the ash of my heart
Oh this roaring, ripping torrent
this unbridled black white rapids
that will not yield until
what once was hope and heaven
my life in flotsam, jetsam
is sluiced, and what remains
are dregs, the shreds of my soul
