I can’t change how you feel
Your rejection is ice.
A freeze injected into my bloodstream;
a domino ripple into each vessel
one by one
surrendering
to your
cold,
shattering
my
fragile
soul.
I can’t stop the cold.
My whole self shivering,
my being, crumbling.
When did I give you this power?
When did I become,
so very weak?
rejected
numb
so small,
I mean
nothing
at
all

'Parting is such sweet sorrow!' came to mind as I read this. I like the way you set it out, it tumbles from the heart on to the page. Good work. Jenny.

Hi Shannan. The melting icicle form and cold cold words cut into my soul too. I shivered with you. Brilliant.
