SHE CAME TO ME IN A DREAM

She came to me in a dream last night,
My Mum.
Just as I was feeling
That all light had gone.
Dear face all beaming
Sharp green eyes gleaming
Like a tigress defending
Her young.
Her favourite brother was there as her guide
Young Will
He had six lovely children
Who remember him still,
Though so small when he died.
Not a word did she say –
I so wished she would stay
By my side.
But her job here was done, bringing joy to my heart,
And hope where once there was none.
And I felt so much better
As I watched them depart.
My soul was uplifted
Such peace she had gifted,
I will never forget her
My Mum.

Hi Linda.
Hi Linda.
Your poem is gentle and heartfelt, and has brought tears to my eyes. She sounds lovely - loved the line about sharp green eyes gleaming - defending her young like a tigress. It sounds a beautiful and comforting dream that reminds us that they never truly leave us.

Hello Linda,
Hello Linda,
This is a lovely poem and I do hope the words you have gifted to us to share are really how you feel now. I had a very similar experience in that I too dreamt about my mum when things were not too good. I sincerely hope things will soon start to improve for you and Henry. You are often in my thoughts and if there is anything I can do please, just holler!

Despite the emotion it must have for you, the rhyme in this makes for a light, gentle yet sincere poem. Life has a funny way of picking you up when you hit the skids. Look after those bruises Linda, glad you're mum showed up just when you needed it.

Hi Linda, firstly can I say
Hi Linda, firstly can I say how sorry I was to hear of your fall...the same thing happened to me back in the Summer, fell flat on my face tripping up a curb, so I really feel for you. Funnily enough my mum died twelve years ago, sound like your mum is watching over you. This was a treasure of a read. Again I am thinking of you and hoping you get better soon. Will light a candle tonight for your good health. Jenny.
