The other World (Night came early I.P)

This world is sturdy and firm
From years of abuse
The border walls are made with good intentions
Their sincerity long forgot
The earth that covers it gets softer every day
Breaking away like uneven parts that never quite fit together again
I used to visit here on particular days
I would dig you see, to keep warm
Shovel out the self loathing, the misery, the need to be wanted, the want to be needed
Carve out the mistakes, sacrifices searching for light in the darkness
The rain salty and tepid flowing right through me
I never quite got used to the cold, and
Night would always come early in the other world.
