Sleepless in Shepherd Bush (I.P.)

From out the window flew a coriaceous shoe
that hit a tom-cat smack-bang on his mush. *
What had the feline done to deserve all this?
He’d ignored the voice that told him to shush.
His caterwauling was keeping folks awake
but he was doing that in the pursuit of love;
a sexy and randy kitten was around the corner
so he did not mind to be pelted from above.
He was looking forward to a night of passion,
uttering sweet nothings, spontaneously ad lib.
But was not aware that he had been slandered
and rumours had circulated that he was a gib.

mush = a slang word for face

Poor thing!
Poor thing!
I loved the way the words play into each other.
Funny poem, enjoyed!

Catastrophe, most certainly
Catastrophe, most certainly not, Luigi. A highly original take on the I.P. and one which really amused me
Hope your Sunday is a peaceful one, with no screeching moggies.
