Dead Mirrors
By Marionella
- 1759 reads
Swift ears bring
remembered gasps, as
slandered hearts
taste broken bones
Half an earphone rolls
into the wasted land
between our heads
Feet scrape across
the land of cracking knuckles
and forgotten whistles
Dead mirrors
cast ruined faces into
magnified jeopardy
Things get smaller
Someone stares with
half an eye; bends,
sweeps the scattered debris
of a shattered smile
off a carpet
clouded with the dust of the past
A sister sings
as a brother smashes guitars outside
He watches the
strings peel
converge
bend into each other
make love, dancing like spider's legs
Fluid seeps out of damaged spores
in the garden behind
the stained glass:
tears the plant always wishes
it could take back

This is completely made from
This is completely made from dreamlike imagery that fills your head with a kaleidoscope unfolding one scene and meaning into the next.
I very much enjoyed the psychedelic effect.

This reminds me of Erin Kelly
This reminds me of Erin Kelly's The Poison Tree, Marionella. Don't know if you've read it. Some sharp images and a real sense of fragmentation.
