Vying with a Bee
P K Routray
Bees
varieties man seea,
minute ugly to singing big
afraid man is to their bitter sting.
Robs man from their hive
honey, the nectar to live.
From dawn to dusk toil they
to serve the creation to stay
singing, flying, sucking the nectar
from flower to flower in any weather
not discriminating on the basis of fragrance and color
lessons are they for man to learn “ The joy and value of the labor”.
An insect insignificant it is in His creation,
compared to man or any mammoth mammal known
but the service the Almighty has assigned to it
proves His love and its worth, to vie a bee man is unfit.

Firstly, I read this because
Firstly, I read this because it is about a bee, and because the word 'bee', is in the title. Plus being a bee I am interested in anything on the subject of bees. I found your poem to be very much in favour of bees, and also cleverly presented in the form of a bee hive, which I found to be very appealing. If I were a picker and giver of cherries, I would give them to this poem, but I am only a humble bumble bee and cannot pick or carry cherries. Sorry - but I hope someone likes your poem as much as me, and does. And I will buzz off after saying that I think your poem makes some valid points. It just needs a little polish here and there and it will be great.
I like bees, and I like your poem very much.
