The Revolution Has Not Yet Begun

Politicians have their point of view.
Their slight of mouth will dazzle you.
They use big words and look sincere
Same old stuff year after year
Just promises that all come cheap
So close your eyes go back to sleep.
The Revolution has not yet begun.
They hold up their red leather bags
Then rob us of our booze and fags
This is the truth, these are the facts
You’ll have to pay a bedroom tax.
Shame you have that extra floor
Just go inside and close the door
The Revolution has not yet begun.
We’re deep in debt. You have to pay
Corporations pissed it all away
Not our fault, we weren’t in charge
While bankers spent and had it large.
Our wealth has gone, we’ll have to borrow.
Get through today, roll on tomorrow
The Revolution has not yet begun.
Minimum wage and mouths to feed?
Fed up with the fat cats greed?
Stand up straight, shout out loud
Get together, form a crowd
Have a voice say what you think
It’s time to cause a mighty stink
Don’t give up, you might just win
And, the Revolution might just begin….

This is great. It's one that needs to be read out loud - (a protest poem) - or perhaps sung. Love it!

So well put, and that repetition, with the chilling last line.

Slam your foot down poetry.
Slam your foot down poetry. Agree with insert, this is a belter. Best perfomed on stage with a politician's stand to slam one of your rhetorical fists on.

wonderful jolono
Corporations get subsidies and tax breaks. What do we get? Corporations are Individual entities, so are we? Where are our subsidies?
They tell us this with a straight face. Half of politicians in the US are millionaires. The Kennedy's lost a great deal of their wealth while serving the US. Most politicians now gain wealth while in office, have all the healthcare they need, and never pay for any of their parking tickets.

witty, clever and inspiring
Love the rhythm, the feelings - something that should be sprayed on House of Commons and all those extra homes those MPs seem to gather at our expense....
