I am siting here in this hospital,
waiting for the inevitable to happen,
sitting in the room in awkward silence,
holding back the tears i refuse to let my family see,
i feel sick just being here,
i feel rage that even people who treated her like dirt are here like nothing has happened,
i can't stand seeing her like this,
she has always been there for me,
my mother always helped others before herself,
she is in so much pain that even pain relief isn't working,
cancer is an illness in its vilest form,
as it lurks inside her and she wasn't even aware,
growing stronger while she grows weaker,
cancer as small as it is,
grows faster than you can believe,
time goes so fast and before you know it,
it the end.

This is powerful and short. I love this and especially when you say "holding back the tears that I refuse to let my family see" That's strong. Even though I haven't been through this situation, I know what holding back tears feels like.
