The Trailer Tent – Part Two
The kids were at school and Paul my Husband was out, it was my day off and I was chilling, it was a pyjama day without the pyjamas, with just my dressing gown on.
Both our bins are kept in the front garden, the recycle one and the general one. I went out the front to empty the small recycle bin that we use in the kitchen, which we then transfer to the outside bin. I lifted the lid to the recycle bin which is the furthest one away, out of the two bins, when suddenly my left heel tripped over the large metal hook thing that Paul had set in concrete many years ago that was put there for our trailer tent to keep it secure, I fell over backwards, now our small garden is tiny all concrete with a small foot high brick wall all the way round it, everything happened very fast!
I fell flat on by back, onto the hard ground hitting my left elbow and left palm! My dressing gown came open even more, at the top, my bust not quite exposed. I thanked God I hadn’t banged my head onto the small bricked wall that had been inches from my head! I shuddered to think what would have happened if I’d banged my head on the wall or even on the ground! I think it would have been all over! Also the front door was wide open!
I quickly got up and looked around to see if anyone had seen me fall, no one was around, for most were either at school, work or still in bed and I went inside the house. That metal hook had been there years and no one had ever tripped over it! For we all knew it was there. Back inside the house I was shaken, not really hurt but shaken of what could have just happened, and I made myself a sweet cup of tea.
Later when Paul came home I told him what had happened and he said he would remove it. The next day I realized I was not hurt; I was amazed, for I’m no spring chicken. This happened two months ago, the large hook metal thing is still there!

You poor thing, I had a similar experience when I tripped and fell flat on my face and I'm no spring chicken either. You don't know what's worse, the embarrassment or the pain, so I really feel for you.
An interesting story.
Jenny.
