I've got 4 daughters...I've been on that ceiling many times...and they've already spent their inheritance.

This is charming Tina. For it's hilarity, plus the voice you've created is so typical of that class in that era.

HI Tina
HI Tina
This was such a fun poem to read - probably for you to write too. It brought memories of my dad bailing me out when I had car accidents when I first passed my test. I had two in the first month. He never criticised me - just called the cops and did the talking.

Fun poem and I hear the young
Fun poem and I hear the young person's voice. My daughters rely on 'bank of grandad.' Elsie

Fathers are like banks, but
Fathers are like banks, but unlike banks nobody will come to their rescue. A nice and unusual contribution from you Tina, that shows that poetry can be fun. Well done.

Tina,
Tina,
I thought your poem was a slice of real life. My daughters think their Dad is master of everything that is problematic in their lives. Cars, decorating, general repairs, these all come under the heading Dad'll fix it!
Just one question, Tina, that last stanza ... does it mean Father's still painting the ceiling? I've only just stopped singing it.
Great poem
