There's such saddness in this poem Tina,
the words are those that I can relate to, when you love someone so deeply that they've been a part of your life for so long, it's hard to imagine them not there. Yes...this definitely bought a lump to my throat and an ache in my heart.
Though on saying that I thought your metaphors were brilliant, especially:
You are the weft, and the weave
of my life - the tapestry would fall apart
with you not here;
Also:
you are the four points of the compass,
my true north...my plumb line.
There's so much love in this poem and was well written as always Tina.
Jenny.

Hi Tina. I really felt the emotions behind your words. My mum talks like this more and more often and your poem expresses those feelings so perfectly. I've read it several times now and each time, have found something new to like. And each time, have felt sadder. I think it was that picture of the lone leaf that did me in the end.

This is so beautiful. I love how you use the image of hands. Time has no meaning when there are no hands to catch one. Sad but positive in that an individual's importance is being expressed.

A lovely poem, I especially like the last verse.
Reminds me of some of John Donne's poems.
