Prayer for Gaza

Our father who can’t be in heaven
Hollow be thy name
Thy Kingdom come
With hate and guns
On Earth as it is
In Hell
Give us this day our daily dead
Until you stop giving Zionists free passes
And seeing their world
Through blood stained glasses
Lead us not into damnation
Nor deliver us from evil
Because most of us live in peace
Despite the grave intentions
Of a few less ordinary men
Who celebrate the murder of children
In the name of defence
Of a Motherland that has no Mother
This killing upon which
Israel thrives
Is the Hawk that steals the eggs
Of unlived lives
In Gaza children scream in their dreams
To see if they are still alive

Hello there, I am very
Hello there, I am very surprised that ABC would publish a poem that slams Christianity so directly. This poem really offends me, although your opinion of the Gaza war is your opinion in our democracy, and it would be nice for you to write with some balance and write about the other side now and all the pain and uncertainty of having to cower under the onslaught of 3,500 rockets aimed specifically at Israeli civilians.
