Some honey ants can store up food
in a worker called ‘replete’:
its stomach swells up as it’s fed
with gathered liquid sweet,
then maybe hanging from the roof
of the chamber underground
for many months until the time
when little food is found:
and then they ask the ‘worker-sack’
to regurgitate food back!

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Such a jewel of a poem with a little bit of unknown facts about nature thrown in. I loved it.
