Universal motion

Rustling trees,
whispering breeze,
migrating swallows
fly high over thundering billows,
hooves canter past
or a train superfast,
a slug slowly creeps,
a jaguar leaps,
blinking eyes,
flitting flies,
babies roll and crawl,
run, or fall,
children jump, and skip,
slide, or slip,
plant grows,
river flows,
cillia flick
lungs breathe, mules kick,
a smile, a frown –
a mobile face,
our globe revolves
and glides through space.
Commuters rush,
dodgems crash,
earth crust shifts,
digger lifts,
mountains quake,
atoms shake,
constant alterations
of positions;
gentle shivers,
tiny quivers
moonlight shimmers:
no peaceful scene or placid sight
is ever fully static, quite.

Well Rhiannon,
Well Rhiannon,
How quick off the mark were you? This is a great response to the I.P. and in such a short space of time too. I would still be deciding on a title. I like the form of this poem too and the last two lines reminds us that nothing is absolutely unmoving except, possibly, most of my poems.
Another enjoyable reading experience.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
This is lovely. l like how you found such a good two word combination for so many forms of movement. Down to the cillia.

A thoughtful piece; well
A thoughtful piece; well written, and entertaining, Rhiannon. Sorry I was slow off the mark, by the way. As for all of us, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day
