Clacton On Sea

There is a reason the sun
Rarely shines
On Clacton on Sea
It’s a dark cloud infested place
Where bigotry and hate
Grows on every tree
An ageing population
Whose forefathers
Fought in the war
Against Hitler and fascism
Now struggle with remembering
What the fight was for
This small dull town
Where no conscience exists
Has just made national news
For electing an MP
From a fascist party
With extremist views
The immigrants are to blame
For every known disease
UKIP takes the town to the right
There is no hypocrisy here
When the foot soldiers go
For a curry on a Saturday night
There is a reason the sun
Refuses to shine
On Clacton on Sea
It’s the end of the pier
An unfunny arcade
With a cheap politician
Profiting from fear
Oh Clacton On Sea
Your choice was not brave
The smell of burning bones
Is your forefathers
Spinning in their grave
