how fabulous are galaxies
a gem filled swirling field
a postcard from the dawn of time
infinity, revealed
.
but i don't need a galaxy
of spheroids burning bright
i only need a single star
to warm my heart at night
.
men formed the constellations
from illusions in their minds
a river of mythology
that through the cosmos, winds
.
i don't need constellations
filled with gods of days gone by
i only need a single star
the goddess of my eye
.
the universe encompasses
with flashy stellar casts
an axiom, impervious
to all iconoclasts
.
i do not need a universe
too grandiose to clutch
i only need a single star
and i love you so much
