A luminous beauty
In glow of lampshades,
Kissing on couches,
A stranger passes.
The street groans,
Strains at its leash.
The moon overhead
Has not commenced.
Traffic roars, air damp.
Stranger strolls
Languidly,
No one to run to.
*
Chatters with friends
Solves the problem,
Some protection.
Treads to bed.
*
An iridescent beauty.
The stranger stares
At all that is not his,
Failures return.
*
Uncertain future
Love floats from afar
Empty clean sheets
Safe as houses.
