Some Like It Hot (I.P.)

I packed a suitcase
and went to Paphos.
No one to answer to,
I was my own boss.
I did the tourist bit
(no need for you to mock)
and was fascinated
by Aphrodite’s rock.
It’s where Digenes Akritas *
achieved legendary fame
and Petra Tou Romiou
is its alternative name.
Further along the coast
is the village of Pissouri
where I met a couple
hailing from Missouri.
I visited museums,
the Tombs of the Kings,
the castle by the harbour
and did other things.
The sub-tropical climate
was a tad too much for me;
I waited for low temperatures
but it was not to be.
Back home it was freezing
and, though it seems strange,
I found the cold weather fitting
and was glad of the change.

A great take on the I.P. Luigi, but then we can always rely on you to come up with something different, written in your own, enviable, inimitable style.
