Snow Flakes

As I gaze
on Winter's
magic,
imagining
the Snow God
shaving his
bushy white beard,
flakes plummet
like a cascading
waterfall,
flirting with branches,
flinching as Magpie
comes to rest,
flimsy substance
unsettled as it is,
prepares to join
the mass below,
layer upon layer
becoming one,
weary...weakened
by its journey,
then fastened secure,
it can rest in the serenity
of the landscape.

I liked the picture of the snowflakes floating down like a waterfall, flirting with the branches and slowing drifting to settle. Were you watching this happening where you are living? Rhiannon

It's a beautiful picture and a beautiful poem, Jenny. So sorry i missed this one before.
We have had but a few flakes here, but apparently, so the weathermen say, we could be due for more at the end of the week Love the idea of the Snow God with his bushy white beard. More than effective imagery.
Much enjoyed.
