One Number 31 (IP)
By Philip Sidney

Abstract joy tachycardic rush drips and runs and holds
and holds
eyes and minds
into the snowstorm
deeper and deeper
into the dense heart of it all
into -
You’re wrong,
You’re wrong - it's abstract,
Don’t make it what it
isn’t –
it is to me -
confront it
stand before the
only one number 31
life
all life
flashes and flickers in electric intensity
and
boom-boom-boom -
turn away, it’s too much –
see the perfect cubist vision
through the floor to ceiling frame:
walls and street and rising towers
claiming structure, straight structures
calming and lovely in their way -
but
back to this Pollock mish-mash of
strings
pulling at your heart strings
a dyspraxic dance
of everything.

really enjoyed this Philip,
really enjoyed this Philip, thought it was fantastic, liked the little moments of repetition, really effective here,& the isolated '– it is to me -' as well as the beautiful 'all life/flashes and flickers in electric intensity'. also felt quite experimental in the most positive sense (to me, knowing nothing about poetry) great work

I loved the rush of this
I loved the rush of this piece. Felt like falling - sort of Alice in Wonderlandish - speeding up as it went on and doesn't really want to finish. Really great!

Great stuff - lovely to read
Great stuff - lovely to read someone's emotional response to a painting - I've had that trained out of me!
