DO DOGS DREAM?

Do dogs dream? Of course we do! You have it on the highest authority,
me, Sam, small Yorkshire terrier and great dreamer. Watch a dog when
he's asleep, his paws twitch as though he is running. When I do that I am
chasing next door's cat who is always invading our garden. I can't stand
him and he doesn't like me either, so we're quits! When I am peacefully
asleep in my basket with a wistful look on my face I am dreaming of the
beautiful Yorkie with the soulful eyes who lives two doors down. A few
nights ago I had a fantastic dream, so wonderful that I savoured it for ages.
This is what I dreamt. When my family do their weekly shop they leave
me in the car. This time I dreamt that I followed them into the super market.
At first I was at a loss as there was so much food to look at and to admire,
that I had indigestion just gazing at it. I decided to follow what everyone
else was doing and started selecting items that looked tempting to me,
leaving them in piles at each end of the alleys to be collected later. There
were soon stacks of my chosen items, things that any dog would sell his
soul for. I ended up at the cake counter and added a large creamy cake
to my store. I imagined that my selection would be magically put into
bags and loaded into the car, just as the family's weekly shop is, but I
couldn't find any way of making this happen, so I sat in the middle of the
shop and barked and barked so much I woke myself up. Sadly there were
no bags of my chosen food items placed near my basket and no creamy
cake either. My breakfast was the usual handful of dry dog food. No
matter, it was a wonderful dream, one I hope to dream again. Then I must
find a way to pack my selected items into bags and get them home.
Something for me to work on..............

It's fun to step inside
It's fun to step inside another and see the world from their eyes so to speak. This is a lovely piece and I shall always look at Yorkies and wonder what they are thinking from now on...
