Wye Trail Sheep

Wye trail through field of
quiet scattered munching sheep
“Meh! Meh! Me-e-eh! Me-e-eh!
Who goes there? Meh! Meh! Me-e-eh!
Me-e-eh! Meh! Meh!
fellow-sheep come down, come up,
approach through the gap,
over the dip, descend from the top,
draw near, come here,
Me-e-eh! Me-e-eh!
pull together, our numbers display –
these intruders escort
(have they any food brought?)
out on their way
Baa! Baa! Baa-aa!
Baa! Baa! Baa-aa! Baa-aa!
flock in from afar, Baa-aa!
run around them, don’t surround them
get behind them, and remind them
an army united we are.
Shoo! Shoo! Away with you!
There’s the gate, we’ll wait,
and stay ’til you depart,
then spread out, drift away,
– excitement over! Baa! Baa! Baa-aa!
Baa-aa! Baa-aa-aa! munch,
Meh! Meh! Me-e-eh! Me-e-eh!”
munch, restart lunch.

A great sheeps-eye view
A great sheeps-eye view Rhiannon, sheep in large numbers crowding people into a corner; a strange experience for them and for us.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I enjoyed reading your sheepish experience. It amazes me how you manage to write a poem about anything, and don't seem to repeat yourself.

This one had me in stitches,
This one had me in stitches, Rhiannon. Mind you, I do love anything to do with sheep. Have often thought of getting a couple for my little patch, but my next door neighbour informs me he'll shortly be acquiring some after the lambing season has finished, so I can enjoy them without any of the hard work involved...as long as he 'lends' them to me, when my grass needs cutting
Much enjoyed.
