Dear Mom

The pillows still smell of Jasmine,
Rose,the slightly fruity,floral
Fragrance of White Diamonds,
Your favorite,I remember you
Saying 'it was like Elizabeth
Taylor,People instantly took
Notice,because like her perfume,
Once you experience the
Breathtaking elegant,presence,
You remember indefinitely'.
I recall fondly when you
Would do the embarrassing
Parent chat,sex and all that,you
Drop in how you wore it when
You met dad,but he later said it
Wasn't the perfume that made
You stand out to him,but the
Fact he liked your long brown
Wavy hair.we laughed so much
My inside ached for hours,
Great times mom.
I'm smiling now remembering
Those moments and the times
When I did want to chat, you'd be
There,even when I couldn't be
Bothered to phone you,because
I was to busy with my boyfriend
Or best friend Claire.
When I was ten you told me two
Things in life are worth more than
Pocket money or pretty dresses,
I would always pester you for.
You said, 'laughing daily and
Doing things for others',
I never got what you meant, and
Smiled and nodded like any child
Would when they just want to go
Outside on a bright sunny day and
Play. But I know what you mean
now mom, and try to do that
just for you.
Only when I couldn't hear your
Voice,or see your warm caring
Face,i realized how special you
Are.i hope you knew how grateful
I was and thank god I was lucky to
Have you in my life.
Thank you for always being there,
Even now when i know you cant
Physically be here,I'm sure your
Watching over me,like all wonder
Mothers do,no matter where they
Are.love you,my truly Amazing mom.

Lovely to remember our
Lovely to remember our mothers, who may no longer be with us, on this day. Very sweet, and that is fitting.

Trish, you've got me in
Trish, you've got me in floods of tears - but in a good way. Your poem is so honest and full of feeling, it's the most moving thing I've read all week. Really beautiful!
And now I'm smiling, too.
