Doing London

We travelled to London and went to the Tower,
which has the Crown Jewels and royal treasure.
It is a mighty fortress, symbolic of power,
where people stayed at their majesties’ pleasure.
The London Eye on the South bank of the river
is a giant Ferris wheel that we could not miss.
The view from the top makes the timid shiver,
but for the adventurous it is pure bliss.
Next to St. Paul’s, then to Madame Tussauds,
Buckingham Palace and the ship Cutty Sark,
and I’m certain that I heard the bells of Bow.
Later we strolled leisurely in Regent’s Park.
To Petticoat Lane which is a market overt,
and to Notting Hill Gate, but that wasn’t all.
We enjoyed Jean Sibelius in a classical concert
with the Philarmonia at the Festival Hall.
