What's eating David?

David's gone thin.

He isn't the same,
although he is eating.
Sometimes he just lays 
on his side.
I don't know why - 
I have done all I can
to keep him going, 
to keep him calm.
He has seemed stressed,
obvious weight loss,
but with no apparent reason.
What's eating him?
Why is he degenerating.
Today he was just laying,
laboured breathing,
mouth opening and closing - 
Gasping...
I thought he was going.
But then out of nowhere
Where his tail was all curled up,
he stopped - seemed ok,
and swam off.

Poor David. When I started reading it I thought it was so surreal but once I realsed what he was I felt sad. Hope he is ok. Liked the poem.

I like this David poem. I could feel tension building in me as I read it, until I reached the end. But I'm not really sure the tension's gone. Poor David.

Tension has not gone for me or for my little daughter either, to whom David belongs - poor David.
