Cover your eyes, and your face;
make yourself a nonentity.
Ensure there isn’t any trace
of glamour or femininity.

Disregard that you are a beauty,
don’t let your attitude be brazen.
You mustn’t forget your duty,
to produce spawns by the dozen.

Banish any thought of equality,
recognise that you are inferior
and walk two paces behind me;
do not surrender to hysteria.

Try to curb your wish to strive
against those men in authority
who say that you may not drive
like the ones of a western sorority.

I can tell you as a matter of fact
that changes are not yet foreseen,
so we do not expect you to react
to the life that has always been.

It is becoming more and more evident in a particular demographic, Holly, but the women seem resigned to that way of life.

Every society, western or not, puts pressures on its citizens - women as well as men - in various degrees, religious, social, economic etc., dear Rhiannon, but freedom of choice on how we lead our lives has to be paramount, in my humble opinion. You always raise interesting and challenging points and I thank you for that.

Love your message Luigi

NZ was the first country in the world to give women the 'right' to vote. Even today that (& your message) is prevalent in the scenic veiws offered here. No words, just miles of bras attached on the fence of rightful change. Thank you for the poignant reminder of why.

NZ was well in the vanguard in granting women the vote and your country can be proud of having been so liberal and progressive, Rob. We have come a long way from then and, though some battles are still being fought by the distaff side in many part of the world, the situation has somewhat improved. There are still pockets of resistance in certain cultures and it will take time and determination to overcome the obstacles.

Quite true Rob. Some cultures are more matriarchal than others where the man's dominance prevails.
