Your own kind

You could tell she was a young thing
springy legs and all that;
curious, confident, didn’t give a damn
I shooed her with my scarf
then an empty plastic bag-
she gave me the eye- back off
Green eyes to green eyes
She’ll have him, I thought-
he’s not used to others
won’t know how to handle himself.
Yet I saw something in his eye;
I’ve got this
I know what to do
I don’t need you to fight my battles
So I flip flopped off
down stone stairs
leaving you
to your own kind.

Really enjoyed this. Love the communication with eyes and how the 'kind' is left for the reader to puzzle. Nice one!

hello lovewriting,
hello lovewriting,
enjoyed reading your poem -
it's very original and lightly put across - and has a nice sense of humour which made me smile.
good luck with the writing......h
