We are fragile people 

held up only by heavy words

that make our stomach drop

and the butterflies in our tummy

soar



We are weightless

so light we could easily

drift away

out of existence

but we are anchored down

by the heavy words



Compliments that we wear 

like diamonds and satin gloves

Devotions that we repeat as though 

they are our names

Heavy words define us

when we are unable to define ourselves



I will create a dictionary of you

and you can highlight your favorite words

passages and terms of endearment



I will help define you
