Impassioned
fads and fancies spark
vigorously shoot up and sprout,
whims and crazes flare,
exuberantly surge and sizzle;
enthusiasms flit and shift,
wilt, wane, wither,
droop, cool, fizzle
out:
no root,
shrivelled fruit –
last week’s
trend and buzz
old-fashioned.
