Reintroduction over,
food eaten,
we stretched out in the bar
She looked deep into me
I haven't seen you smile yet
Where's the excitement?
The old sense of fun?
I was nonplussed
I tried to log the grins,
the belly-laughs
I had to admit I'd been a little dry
Earnest, maybe,
if I'm being kind
I made some excuse
about driving through London;
the seriousness of changing lives
It didn't wash with her
But where's the excitement?
The old sense of fun?
I searched myself to find it

Really liked this, PT. It is so flat, but tells the story through a painted picture. It's like when someone spoils things then they get all up about starting over and the other one has lost it. The essence is gone. Great piece. Best wishes to you, though,
