spiteful
bittersweet liquid tipped to lips
indulge in the lost
inhibitions
laugh at the mildly hilarious
push back hair from face
smudge lipstick
stumble
and would you like another
glassful?
glass full again
lazy eyes ignite
tell that story
they've heard it half an hour before
half the laughter this time
around
arms draped around shoulders
a crowd knitted together
not friends
opposition
and suddenly
alone
attention demanded
tell that story
they've heard it twice before
less laughter now
pity
old anger
fermented
breaks through cracks
in once calm complexion
it is ugly
now
you ought to stop now
you've had enough
oh, but we all ought to do
something

Rawness appreciated
I love the torrent of broken thoughts that spill forth in this, jumping through impressions to give a truth captured by poetry.
