Sweet Lightning

Thunder thrums
in the middle distance
a willow – overhangs the window,
screeches on the pane...
him...lying beside me, arms
above his head like branches
of a cherry tree
and if I could bottle
one moment in time
that moment would be now.
A glass beside our bed, quivers –
liquid silver in the half-light – sheets,
bind my feet...
but I am a willing prisoner
of his...the one whose eyes I bend,
through the dawn, to kiss...
a dawn, brings, right here,
right now, sweet, sweet lightning,
such as this.
