Day of the Dead

When the ashes start to rise
And the moon falls from the sky
And a thousand candles burn into the night
When the angels softly cry
On the flames below the sky
Would a thousand souls still pray for you and I?
When the earth ceases to turn
And in the eyes of God we burn
Will your Holy Heaven still shine just as bright?
When the angels softly cry
On the flames below the sky
Would a thousand souls still pray for you and I?
When the ones you love have died
And you drown in tears you've cried
Can you find the strength to say that it's alright?
When the angels softly cry
On the flames below the sky
Would a thousand souls still pray for you and I?
When you know the end has come
All of your promises undone
When you can't find the strength, stay in the fight
Though all the angels stand and cry
Raining flame beneath the skies
I see the passion in your eye
I hear your truth beyond the lies
I still stand today and say that it's alright.
