The End and Beginning of the Day

Continuing the idea of one of my old hymns on Sundays:

Upstairs I wander, sleepily wonder,
“What will tomorrow bring?
I turn off the light, to rest for the night,
and think of my heavenly King.

“Keep me, protect me, never reject me,
Forgive all my foolish sins,
I trust in the Saviour, improve my behaviour,
my heart of your glory sings.”

“When it is morning, while I am yawning,
stretching, or getting dressed,
please help me remember, my King to consider,
and pray to be richly blessed.”

Beautiful, a prayer that continues through each ordinary activity, but spoken in heartfelt supplication to your king.

Hi Rhiannon

I like your short and meaningful  bedtime prayer, which sort of sums up all of what is necessary:

Keep me, protect me, never reject me,

Thanks Jean. I think it was inspired by something in the Welsh song to the tune, but my own summary of what I knew I wanted to pray, and the need not to rush out into the day without prayer, especially when one views the hours ahead and the struggles and anticipated problems. Rhiannon
